We know from personal experience that the pain of losing a baby is like no other. We established our not for profit organisation, which we named Arran Campbell in honour of our special little boy, to provide support to anyone who has been affected by the loss of a baby whether through stillbirth, neonatal death or miscarriage.
We never want you to feel alone and, while you may be offered emotional support and counselling by your health care professionals, we share the story of our own personal journey here, which we hope will support you through the days, weeks and months around your own bereavement and help you navigate your way through your grief.
By sharing our experience we hope also to ensure that, in the midst of your grief when making decisions seems impossible, you do not miss any opportunity to honour and remember your little one.
I am Angela, Arran's mummy, Gordon aka Campbell, is Arran's Daddy and Ben is Arran's big brother. Arran is our sweet little boy who ever so silently, entered the world on the 1st of July 2020. Arran was stillborn.
Losing Arran has been the most difficult thing we have ever had to face and we continue to face this heartache every single day. Life is not the same nor will it ever be the same. We share Arran's story in the hope that it may offer some help to others in knowing that they are not alone in the pain that they face.
As well as offering support by sharing our story and experiences, we have been fundraising to buy essential equipment for the hospital that cared for Arran and for us, and to donate other items to help those going through the same grief. Of course, we had no idea what was needed before we began this journey. The generosity of others has enabled us to fulfil our wish to provide practical support. This is our story so far...
